Provides an efficient method of preparing subsamples of collected water-sediment mixtures from stream flows for water quality analysis.
- Water-sediment samples are poured in and composited into one representative cross-section sample, then split into 4 to 16 subsamples
- Polyethylene sample splitter consists of a thick walled cylindrical vessel with a disc churn
- Center handle extends through the cover, with a locating notch to keep it oriented
- Small polypropylene spring-loaded spigot drains subsamples into bottles; carrying handle makes transport easy
- Intended to meet USGS water sampling protocol; lid and spigot are replaceable
